Employers Beware - Employee Health Plan & Benefits Discontent Has Been Festering, Surfaced & Is Dangerous!

The Problem - Your Employees are ever-increasingly dissatisfied with the Cost and Care Provided by Health Plans and other Employee Benefits!

Recent events have brought nagging discontent to a boiling point! This Employee discontent should not be ignored!

Look at what happened in NY with the murder of UnitedHealthcare's CEO!

As VOX magazine pointed out since the CEO's murder, The industry’s blame game will not end the US national health care nightmare.” Dylan Scott - a senior correspondent and editor at VOX, noted - “There is not one man nor even one industry responsible for the failures of US health care. The finger-pointing is a distraction. Every party bears responsibility. The only way forward is to reckon with that collective failure. We need to begin working toward a more rational and just system if we are to have any hope of creating a world in which Thompson’s shooting would be truly unimaginable.”

Employers Take Note -- Employees specifically - and Americans in general - are extremely unhappy with the cost and care provided by the Health Plans and Employee Benefit Systems! They are looking for someone to blame!!

Like it or not – The systems are Broken, Unfair, Overpriced, Inefficient, Wasteful, Uncaring and Lack Transparency! Unfortunately, few people in positions for making changes are proposing viable Solutions!

Those who should be providing Solutions – Health Plans, Hospitals, Doctors, Pharmas, and Advisors - are not proposing or providing Solutions! They are rolling in unwarranted Profits – at the Cost of Employees, Employers and Individuals!

As the Cost of Premiums, Fees and Services skyrocket and services diminish year-by-year, the Employee and Individual dissatisfaction mounts!

A Jacobin (magazine) staff writer, Branko Marcetic – who focuses on the Healthcare Systems – tells us:

■ “For the first time in decades, a majority of Americans rate US health care as substandard, including a new high calling it “poor.”

■ “Nearly three-quarters say it’s failing to meet their needs, and about half find it difficult to afford their medical bills.”

■ “A majority have had some kind of problem — denied claims, for instance, or issues with provider networks or pre-authorization — with their insurance”

■ “...even bigger majorities feel insurers aren’t transparent about what they cover, or think insurance bills or the various payments they have to make to insurers are not easy to understand.

Almost four in 10 Americans say they have skipped necessary medical care over the costs, and millions carry medical debts from past cases.”

Dylon Scott of Vox Magazine states - The cruelties of the US medical system and the ongoing blame game between the private industries that profit from it have left patients angry and confused — and looking for someone, anyone, to blame, fairly or not.”

Scott continues, “The failure of American health care is a collective one, the system being pulled together haphazardly over many decades, rather than thoughtfully planned from the start. Even the public often has contradictory desires, wanting both more choice and guaranteed coverage.”

Most experts in many industries agree that there is No One Simple Solution!!

Note I, and many critics of the existing systems, believe that massive Government intervention on Federal, State and Local Levels is not a Solution and would:

Only make the problem more complex

Add more layers of administrative burden

Eventually add to the costs without providing better less expensive care for those in need!

While there are No Simple Solutions for this mess that has been allowed to self perpetuate over many years by many profit driven parties, there are a number of Specific Solutions - that when working together - will turn the tide creating Cost Savings and Better Health Care!

These coordinated Solutions, Strategies & Plans will: Improve Care, Removing Complexity, Reducing Costs and Improve Employee/Individual Satisfaction.

We have a Proposed Starter Strategy, Solution & Plan
My Company, Eureka!!, with years of Field Experience – since 1986 - and having studied the systemic vagaries of the Health Insurance, Healthcare and Benefits Industries has identified 4 Integrated, Proven and Sustainable Solutions. They are called the “QUAD”                                              that will substantially:

Improve Employee's Healthcare Experiences

Inform and Empower Employees to make Better Self-Directed Choices

Provide Viable Plan Choices

Create Transparency

Reduce Employee and Employer Costs by 20% to 40% or More on a Turnkey Basis!

What Are The Quad's Integrated Components? They are:

1) Defined Contribution (DC) Design – Applied to the overall Employee Benefit Package - Simoilar to the succcessful utilization of DC in retirement plans.

2) Reference Based Pricing (RBP) – Reimbursing the Cost of Care to Hospitals, Doctors, etc. based on Medicare Benchmarks - but at higher percentage rates -- Including Pharmaceutical Plan Management (PPM) to contain costs.

3) Building an Integrated Menu Benefit Choices (Including the Health Plan. Other traditional Core Benefits and Voluntary/Worksite Plans to meet the Needs and Budgets of Employees of all job descriptions and wages without discrimination.

   4) Providing a Seamless Process of Education, Communication,

Enrollment, Data Management and Ongoing Service to Inform
and Empower Employees to make Educated Decisions. The                                                Enrollment Data is then collected and distributed to involved Providers of  Plans,              Programs and Services on a Transparent Basis for all parties.

What More Can You Do As An Employer Beyond the “Quad”? - Besides learning more about the above 4 Solutions of the “QUAD” that Reduces the Benefit Costs by 20% to 40% or More and Enhance the Employees Benefits, I suggest:

Open better lines of communications with Employees from the bottom up and top down.

Let Employees know that you are equally frustrated by the Health Plan and Benefit Costs and that you are seeking out viable solutions.

Work with Managers to open up lines of communications with their set of employees for discussing heath plan and benefits related issues.

Let your local Hospitals, Health Plan Providers, Advisors, Brokers, etc. know that the current Pricing, Plan Designs and Levels of Care are in many cases unacceptable and that you intend to be Proactive for Change.
